How to get rid of PUP.Optional.Superfish.A completely?


PUP.Optional.Superfish.A was detected and quarantined on my PC. However, it seems that this threat keeps coming back over and over again after I boot computer. I’ve tried to use several antivirus programs to remove but nothing will get rid of the virus. Something weird starts to occur on my infected PC. Help please!!

What is PUP.Optional.Superfish.A?

Step2. Delete the add-ons related to PUP.Optional.Superfish.A from web browsers.

Mozilla Firefox

Open Firefox, click on Tools and click on Add-on Manager. Select the add-ons strange to you and click Remove to get rid of them.

Internet Explorer

In the pop-up Folder Options box, click the View tab. Under Advanced settings, check Show hidden files and folders and uncheck Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) and then click OK.

Search for the related files and have them deleted.

Step4. Delete the registry created by the PUP.

To open Windows registry, click Start, go to Run, type regedit in the box and click OK.

In the Windows Registry, locate to the registry entries related to the threat and remove all of them.
