What Is Websearch.fastsearchings.info Redirect Virus?
Websearch.fastsearchings.info redirect virus is type of browser hijacker used by hackers to increase website traffic and generate advertising revenue. It usually replaces users’ browser default homepage without any permission. It has the ability to redirect Web browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome to some unwanted websites. When users’ browsers are infected by this redirect virus, the most obvious symptom is the change of the default homepage and search engine. Users often set the website they like as the default homepage of their browser. But when their browser is infected, their default homepage will be changed to Websearch.fastsearchings.info without their approval. Whenever they launch the browser, this website will appear as their homepage. By changing the homepage, Websearch.fastsearchings.info redirect virus can “force” users to search for something by using its own search engine, which is elaborately designed by hackers who aim to collect users’ personal information and further to analyze their search habits. Then, they can deliver many ads based on users’ interests, which increases the chance of clicking on the ads. More clicks mean more money they can gain. It should be noted that users should not click on those ads, for those ads may simply be some lures which attract users to click on them but further distribute malware like Trojan horse, spyware and adware.
